have not had a hypersensitivity reaction to solifenacin or any component of the formulation
do not have urinary retention
do not have gastric retention
do not have uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma
have a diagnosis of overactive bladder and have already been taking solifenacin as prescribed by an authorized healthcare provider
do not have hepatic impairment or disease
do not have renal impairment or disease
understand that if my renal function is of a creatinine clearance of less than 30 ml/min then the maximum dose of solifenacin I can take is 5 mg daily.
am not pregnant nor breastfeeding
understand solifenacin is identified in the Beers Criteria as a potentially inappropriate medication in patients 65 years and older due to its strong anticholinergic properties
understand solifenacin is to be used with caution in the following medication conditions: Alzheimer disease, glaucoma, hepatic impairment, QT prolongation, renal impairment
understand use of solifenacin is associated with anticholinergic adverse reactions including but not limited to CNS effects (eg, confusion, dizziness, drowsiness, hallucinations), gastrointestinal effects (eg, constipation, dry mouth), ophthalmic effects (eg, blurred vision), cardiovascular effects (eg, prolonged QT interval on ECG) in adult and pediatric patients.
have already been taking the initial dose (solifenacin 5 mg) or have been previously prescribed solifenacin 10 mg if selecting solifenacin 10 mg
will not drink grapefruit juice with solifenacin
Do not nor intend to take the following drugs concurrently with solifenacin due to severe or major drug-drug interactions: aclidinium, cimetropium, clozapine, eluxadoline, fexinidazole, systemic fusidic acid, glycopyrrolate oral inhalation, glycopyrronium topical, ipratropium oral inhalation, itraconazole, levosulpride, oxatomide, potassium chloride, potassium citrate, pramlintide, revefenacin, rivastigmine, secretin, tiotropium, umeclidinium

Solifenacin Medication Description
Solifenacin is a prescription medication used to treat overactive bladder in adults experiencing urinary frequency, urgency, or urge incontinence. It works by relaxing the bladder’s detrusor muscle, allowing it to hold more urine and reducing sudden, strong urges to urinate. By improving bladder control, solifenacin can help decrease bathroom visits and reduce the risk of leakage episodes.

Efficacy is often noticeable within 4 weeks of daily use, with continued improvement over time when taken as prescribed.

Usage Instructions
- Take exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, usually once daily
- Typical dosing is 5 to 10 mg taken at the same time each day
- Swallow tablets whole with water; do not crush or chew
- May be taken with or without food
- Continue taking even if symptoms improve, as stopping may cause symptoms to return
Warnings & Precautions
- Do not use if you have urinary retention, gastric retention, or uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma
- Use with caution if you have liver disease, kidney problems, or gastrointestinal disorders such as severe constipation
- Possible side effects include dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, and dizziness
- May cause drowsiness or blurred vision. Use caution when driving or operating machinery
- Inform your healthcare provider of all medications you take, as some may interact with solifenacin
