Tri-Luma Cream is the only FDA-approved topical treatment used for the short-term treatment of moderate to severe melasma of the face. Tri-Luma is a triple combination of fluocinolone, hydroquinone, and tretinoin which work synergistically to reduce inflammation, even out skin pigmentation, and protect skin long-term.

Propecia® is used to treat male pattern baldness or hair loss. It must be taken continuously for at least 3 months to show effect, and 12 months to assess the effectiveness of the medication. Women who are pregnant or plan to become pregnant must not touch or handle this medication as it can lead to fetal abnormalities. 

Ivermectin 1% cream (Soolantra) is a topical prescription indicated for the treatment of inflammatory lesions of rosacea. People with rosacea are found to carry higher concentrations of Demodex mites on the face which are associated with inflammation. Soolantra is antiparasitic and works against Demodex mites to reduce inflammation.

Metronidazole topical cream and gel is used for the treatment of inflammatory lesions and redness of rosacea.

Lidocaine-prilocaine cream is a combination of two topical anesthetics (i.e. numbing medications) that is used to prevent pain or discomfort associated with injections. Topical anesthetics work by blocking nerve signals in the injected area and therefore preventing pain signals from reaching the brain. Lidocaine-prilocaine cream is used to prepare for minor surgery, cosmetic or medical procedures, including use on genital mucosa, and for pretreatment of infiltration anesthesia (numbing of a localized area). Procedures that may benefit from lidocaine-prilocaine cream include: Botox injections, skin biopsies, skin grafting, extensive dermabrasion, and plastic surgery. Lidocaine-prilocaine cream may also be applied prior to penile injections being used for erectile dysfunction.

Hydroquinone is used to lighten hyperpigmentation (dark spots) of the skin caused by a wide range of conditions, such as melasma, freckles and post-inflammatory marks caused by acne scars, eczema, hormonal treatments, and injury to the skin.
