Sertraline is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used to treat anxiety. Treatment of anxiety can require trial of different SSRIs one at a time to find the best fit for you. Noticeable improvements in mood usually appear after 4 weeks of daily use with a recommended trial period of 4 to 12 weeks.
