Podofilox is topical prescription indicated for the treatment of external genital warts and perianal warts (Condyloma acuminatum). Podofilox slowly kills external genital warts. The warts will change from a fleshy skin color to a dry, crusted, dead look, then disappear.

Podofilox is topical prescription indicated for the treatment of external genital warts and perianal warts (Condyloma acuminatum).

Apply twice daily (morning and evening) for 3 days, then withhold use for 4 days; this cycle may be repeated up to 4 times until there is no visible wart tissue

Discontinue after 4 treatment cycles if incomplete response and consider alternative treatment; do not repeat use

Wash hands before and after use

understand to avoid contact of podofilox with eyes. If podofilox comes in contact with the eyes, flush with water and seek medical attention.
Understand podofilox is not intended for the treatment of mucous membrane warts
understand it is not recommended to have sexual intercourse on the days podofilox is applied
understand most skin reactions associated with podofilox are mild to moderate and did not increase during the treatment period; severe skin reactions can occur with podofilox and most frequently occur within the first two weeks of treatment
understand to wash hands before and after application of podofilox
understand to apply podofilox to warts using either the applicator supplied with the drug or with finger (gel only) while minimizing exposure to surrounding normal tissue
understand to allow podofilox to dry before allowing return of opposing skin surfaces to their normal positions

Podofilox Medication Description
Podofilox is a topical prescription medication used to treat external genital and perianal warts, also known as Condyloma acuminatum. It works by destroying the wart tissue over time, gradually causing the warts to dry, crust over, and fall off. Podofilox is a patient-applied solution that allows for discreet at-home treatment of a condition that can otherwise be uncomfortable and stigmatizing.

Podofilox should only be applied to external areas and should not be used on open wounds or mucous membranes.

Usage Instructions
- Wash hands thoroughly before and after application
- Monitor for skin irritation or lack of wart resolution

- For external use only—avoid use on mucosal surfaces
- Do not use on broken skin or open sores
- Discontinue if severe irritation, swelling, or ulceration occurs
