Naproxen is used for pain or inflammation commonly associated with general pain, migraine, painful menstrual cycles, and arthritis. Prescription-strength naproxen allows for pain alleviation in fewer doses.
- Prescription strength naproxen is recommended for moderate pain or inflammation, including general pain, migraine, fever, and painful menstrual cycles
- Taken every 12 hours as needed, not to exceed 2 tablets (1 gram) daily
- Take with food to minimize stomach upset
- Not recommended for use more than 10 consecutive days

Side Effects
Side effects include stomach upset, heartburn and dizziness. Rare but more serious side effects include kidney problems, ringing in the ears, and back pain.
