am 18 years or older
have not had a hypersensitivity reaction to mirabegron any component of the formulation
have a diagnosis of overactive bladder and have already been taking mirabegron as prescribed by an authorized healthcare provider
do not have uncontrolled high blood pressure
do not have renal or hepatic disease or impairment
am not pregnant nor breastfeeding
understand and am aware that mirabegron is associated with adverse cardiovascular effects such as high blood pressure, tachycardia, and palpitations
understand and am aware that the use of mirabegron may result in urinary retention, especially in patients with bladder outlet obstruction, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and/or use of concomitant muscarinic antagonists (eg, solifenacin, tolterodine)
have already been taking the initial dose (mirabegron 25 mg) or have been previously prescribed mirabegron 50 mg if selecting mirabegron 50 mg
Do not nor intend to take the following drugs concurrently with mirabegron due to severe or major drug-drug interactions: doxorubicin, mequitazine, thioridazine, digoxin, eliglustat, tamoxifen

Mirabegron Medication Description
Mirabegron extended-release tablets (Myrbetriq®) are a prescription medication commonly prescribed for the management of overactive bladder (OAB), which may include symptoms such as urgency, frequent urination, and urge urinary incontinence. Unlike anticholinergic medications, mirabegron works by stimulating beta-3 adrenergic receptors in the bladder muscle. This action relaxes the bladder and increases its capacity to hold urine, which can help reduce sudden urges and the number of bathroom trips.

Mirabegron extended-release tablets are often considered when patients cannot tolerate or do not achieve adequate relief with other OAB treatments.

How to Use:

Mirabegron extended-release tablets are usually taken once daily, with or without food, and should be swallowed whole with water. Tablets must not be crushed, chewed, or split, as this may affect the extended-release mechanism. Dosage should always be taken exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. It may take several weeks of consistent use to experience the full therapeutic benefit.

Important Notes and Warnings:
- Mirabegron extended-release tablets may increase blood pressure; regular monitoring is recommended.
- This medication can interact with other prescription drugs, including certain antidepressants, beta-blockers, and antiarrhythmics. Inform your healthcare provider about all medications and supplements you are taking.

Mirabegron Side Effects

Mirabegron side effects may include bladder pain, bloody or cloudy urine, blurred vision, dizziness, headache, irregular heartbeat. Rare side effects inclue blindness or decrease in vision, eye pain, nausea, pain in groin, and vomiting.
