Methylprednisolone is an oral steroid used to treat inflammation or pain caused by acute flares of arthritis, gout, and lupus. It is also used to treat allergic-type reactions such as seasonal allergies, asthma, skin rashes and itching by suppressing the immune system.
- Used to treat inflammation, itching, severe allergies and lung or breathing problems (e.g. asthma)
- Taken as a 6-day taper starting with 6 tablets on day 1 and decreasing by 1 tablet each day
- Best taken with food or milk to reduce stomach upset

Side Effects
Side effects may include trouble sleeping, mood changes, irritability, GI upset, fluid retention, headache, high blood sugar, blurred vision, dizziness and increased sweating.
