Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) medication used for pain or inflammation associated with arthritis. Meloxicam allows for pain relief with only once a day dosing.

I agree that I:

Am 18 years or older
Am taking this medication and have been previously diagnosed with osteoarthritis and/or rheumatoid arthritis
Have not had a hypersensitivity reaction to meloxicam or any component of its formulation
Do not have a history of asthma, hives or other allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen, celecoxib, diclofenac, indomethacin)
Am not pregnant or breastfeeding and understand this medication may be associated with an increased risk of miscarriage
Do not have a history of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery
Understand meloxicam has a boxed warning for increased risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, increasing risk for heart attack (myocardial infarction) and stroke. I understand this risk may occur early in treatment and increases with duration of use.
Understand meloxicam has a boxed warning for increased risk of serious GI adverse events including ulcers, bleeding or fatal damage to the stomach or intestines. These events could occur at any time and without warning symptoms.
Understand adults 65 years and older are at high risk for side effects such as asymptomatic peptic ulcer and/or hemorrhage, compromised kidney function, confusion, agitation and hallucination. The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest period possible.
Do not have a history of aspirin-sensitive asthma
Do not have a history of bariatric surgery
Do not have liver (hepatic) or severe kidney (renal) impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min)
Understand this medication may cause drowsiness which may impair physical and cognitive abilities
Am not taking any blood thinners (e.g., warfarin, Xarelto, Eliquis, dabigatran, enoxaparin)
Understand this medication may interact with medications being metabolized similarly, including lithium, warfarin, methotrexate, phenytoin, SSRIs, and blood pressure medications (e.g., furosemide, losartan, torsemide) so concomitant use should be avoided
Will discontinue use if I experience recurring stomach pain, bleeding or bruising, or any other serious medical problems while taking this medication

Meloxicam Medication Description

How To Use:

Precautions:

Long-term use of NSAIDs may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding, cardiovascular events, or kidney problems. Not recommended for individuals with known NSAID allergies or certain heart or kidney conditions.
Meloxicam Side Effects

Side effects may include constipation, diarrhea, stomach pain, vomiting, gas, heartburn, dizziness or headache, and flu-like symptoms. Severe side effects may include bleeding, high blood pressure, shortness of breath, chest pain, kidney problems, high potassium levels, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and feeling very tired/weak.
