I understand that this medication (Lidocaine 2% Oral Viscous Solution) has a boxed warning for fatal events in infants and young children when used for teething, including seizure and death.
have not had a hypersensitivity reaction to lidocaine, other local anesthetics, or any component of the formulation
am not pregnant or breastfeeding
do not have a bacterial infection at the site of the application, tuberculous or fungal lesions of the skin or viral infections including vaccinia, varicella, and acute herpes simplex
do not have a history of familial malignant hyperthermia
do not have bleeding disorders or heart block
do not have liver (hepatic) impairment
am using this medication for mouth and throat pain or sores
will not swallow this medication or eat for 60 minutes after using due to trisk of imparired swallowing and/or aspiration
understand that ingestion of this medication can result in rare but serious side effects including acidosis, methemoglobinemia, seizure, and trouble breathing
will discontinue the use of this product if local sensitivity or infection occurs

Lidocaine oral solution is a topical anesthetic used to numb the lining of the mouth and throat to relieve pain and irritation. This medication is commonly used for oral or throat discomfort due to mouth sores, dental procedures, sore throat, or other causes requiring localized pain management. It works by blocking nerve signals in the affected area, providing quick and effective relief without systemic absorption.

The solution is swished and gargled for about 15 to 30 seconds and then spit out. It is not meant to be swallowed. How To Use:

Swish and gargle 15–30 seconds, then spit out. Do not swallow. Use as often as prescribed.

Precautions:

Not intended for use in open wounds or if an infection is present. Avoid eating or drinking immediately after use to prevent accidental biting or injury from numbness. It's recommended to notify a healthcare provider if pain persists beyond 7 days or worsens.
