Medication Description
Bimatoprost eye drops, marketed under the brand name Latisse, is an FDA-approved treatment used to enhance the length, thickness, and darkness of eyelashes in individuals with inadequate or sparse eyelash growth (hypotrichosis). The active ingredient works by extending the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle, resulting in longer and fuller lashes over time.
The product is typically applied once daily using a sterile applicator, directly to the skin of the upper eyelid margin at the base of the eyelashes. It is important not to apply Latisse to the lower lash line, as this may lead to unwanted hair growth outside the intended area.
How To Use: Under th direction of a provider, apply once daily at night to a clean, makeup-free face. Use a new sterile applicator for each eye to reduce the risk of contamination. Continued use is required to maintain the effects.
Warnings: Do not reuse applicators. Contact with other areas of the skin may result in unwanted hair growth. May cause darkening of the eyelid skin or eye color, which may be permanent.
