Latanoprost is in the class of medications called prostaglandin analogs and is commonly prescribed to treat open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Latanoprost works to reduce pressure in the eyes by improving the drainage of the aqueous humor (i.e. fluid inside the eyes) and therefore preventing damage to the optic nerve and preserving vision.
- Latanoprost is used to treat open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension by lowering intraocular pressure
- Latanoprost may sustain temperatures of up to 104°F for up to 8 days during shipment, then should be stored in the refrigerator until opened. Once opened, latanoprost may be stored at room temperature for up to 6 weeks (42 days)
- Dosed as 1 drop into affected eye(s) once a day at bedtime
- Contacts should be removed prior to administration of latanoprost. Wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting contacts

Latanoprost Side Effects
Latanoprost side effects may include: eye irritation (e.g., burning, stinging or itching), eye redness, dry eye, temporary blurred vision, darkening of the iris and/or skin around the eyes, and increased eyelash growth.
