Fluticasone propionate and salmeterol oral inhalation is a combination of an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) used as maintenance treatment for asthma. Some brands such as Advair Diskus and Wixela Inhub are used as maintenance treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Fluticasone/salmeterol inhalation provides sustained bronchodilation, prevention of asthma or COPD exacerbations, improved lung function, improved quality of life and reduced rescue medicine use.

Fluticasone and salmeterol inhalation (commonly branded as Advair Diskus or Wixela Inhub) combines an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA). This dual therapy works by reducing airway inflammation while keeping airways open, making it a long term maintenance treatment for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is not a rescue inhaler and should not be used during acute breathing attacks.
How To Use:
Used for long-term control of asthma or COPD
Take one inhalation at the same time each day, or as prescribed by your healthcare provider
Rinse mouth with water (do not swallow) after use to prevent oral thrush
Not suitable for sudden shortness of breath as a rescue inhaler
This medication is most effective when taken consistently each day as prescribed.
