Fluticasone propionate and salmeterol oral inhalation are a combination of an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) used as maintenance treatment for asthma. Some brands such as Advair Diskus and Wixela Inhub are used as maintenance treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).  Fluticasone/salmeterol inhalation provides sustained bronchodilation, prevention of asthma or COPD exacerbations, improved lung function, improved quality of life and reduced rescue medicine use.
