Am 18 years or older
Have not had a hypersensitivity reaction to betamethasone, clotrimazole, other corticosteroids or imidazoles (i.e. miconazole), or any component of its formulation
Am not pregnant or breastfeeding
Am using this product as indicated for fungal infection of the skin for the appropriate duration of therapy of 1 to 2 weeks
Understand this is for external use only, not for oral, ophthalmic or vaginal use
Will avoid contact with eyes and understand that topical steroids, including betamethasone, may increase risk of glaucoma and vision changes
Understand topical corticosteroids should be avoided in older adults due to skin thinning and integrity which may increase systemic absorption and risk for side effects
Understand the topical formulation of this product is unlikely to, but may cause systemic effects (e.g., Cushing syndrome, hyperglycemia) if used for a prolonged period of time, applied to large areas, or wrapped in occlusive dressing
Understand prolonged treatment with topical steroids may increase risk for development of Kaposi sarcoma (a rare type of cancer characterized by purple skin lesions)
Will not use for diaper rash on any age group
Will discontinue use if irritation or sensitivity occurs

Medication Description

Clotrimazole/Betamethasone dipropionate cream is a prescription combination medication used to treat common fungal skin infections, including tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea pedis (athlete’s foot), and tinea corporis (ringworm). This dual-action cream pairs an antifungal (clotrimazole) with a potent corticosteroid (betamethasone) to both eliminate fungal pathogens and alleviate associated inflammation.

Clotrimazole works by disrupting fungal cell membranes, helping to stop the growth and spread of infection, while betamethasone reduces redness, swelling, and itching by suppressing inflammatory immune responses in the skin. This makes the cream especially effective for cases where the fungal infection is accompanied by significant irritation or discomfort.

How to Use:

Typical dosage is: apply a thin layer to the affected skin area twice daily (morning and evening), or as directed by your physician

Gently rub in until the cream disappears

Wash hands before and after application (unless treating the hands)

Continue treatment for 1 to 2 weeks or as directed by your provider

Warnings:

Do not use on the face, groin, or underarms unless directed by a healthcare provider

Avoid covering or wrapping the treated area to prevent excessive absorption of steroid

Prolonged use may increase risk of skin thinning or other side effects

Not for use in fungal nail or scalp infections
Side Effects

Side effects may include skin tingling, burning and dry skin.
