Have a history of acne
Have not had a hypersensitivity reaction to clindamycin, lincomycin, or any component of the formulation (See www.drugs.com for formulation information)
Have not had a history of regional enteritis or ulcerative colitis
Have not had a history of antibiotic-associated colitis
Understand that I should discontinue the drug if significant diarrhea abdominal cramps or passage of blood and mucus occurs as this could be a sign of colitis
Understand each pledget should be discarded after a single use
Am not pregnant or breastfeeding
Am not currently taking erythromycin oral medications or using topical erythromycin medications

Medication Description

Clindamycin pledgets are a topical antibiotic formulation designed to help treat and manage acne. Each pledget (pad) is pre-soaked in clindamycin solution, an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis to reduce the amount of Cutibacterium acnes on the skin—one of the main contributors to acne development.

The wipe format provides a convenient, precise way to apply the medication directly to the affected area, especially useful for people managing breakouts across various parts of the face or body. Consistent use can help reduce inflammation, minimize pimples, and promote clearer skin over time.

This medication is often paired with benzoyl peroxide to reduce the risk of developing antibiotic resistance. Clindamycin topical pledgets may also be prescribed off-label for conditions such as rosacea under the guidance of a healthcare provider.

How to Use:

Cleanse and dry the affected area before application

Wipe the pledget across the entire treatment area

Use once to twice daily, or as directed

Discard pad after single use

More than one pad may be needed depending on area size

Warnings:

For external use only; avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes

Stop use if severe dryness, irritation, or allergic reaction occurs
