starting at $189.99

Brenzavvy® (bexagliflozin) is a prescription medication used to help manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. It belongs to a class of drugs called sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, which work by preventing the kidneys from reabsorbing glucose back into the bloodstream, allowing excess sugar to be excreted through urine. Brenzavvy is typically used in combination with diet and exercise to improve glycemic control and may also offer benefits such as modest weight loss and blood pressure reduction. It is not indicated for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Brenzavvy® (bexagliflozin) may cause a range of side effects, both common and serious. Common side effects include increased urination, urinary tract infections (UTIs), and genital yeast infections, which may present as itching, redness, swelling, or discharge. More serious risks include diabetic ketoacidosis—a potentially life-threatening condition marked by nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and difficulty breathing—as well as dehydration, which can lead to dizziness or low blood pressure. Severe urinary tract infections, including kidney infections and urosepsis, have also been reported. Rare but serious adverse effects include Fournier’s gangrene, a severe infection of the genital region, and an increased risk of lower limb amputations, particularly in individuals with a history of foot ulcers or poor circulation. Regular monitoring and prompt reporting of symptoms to a healthcare provider are essential while taking Brenzavvy®.
