Medication Description

Adapalene and benzoyl peroxide gel is a topical prescription medication commonly prescribed to treat mild to moderate acne vulgaris. It combines two active ingredients:

Adapalene: a topical retinoid that helps regulate skin cell turnover and reduces inflammation.

Benzoyl Peroxide: an antimicrobial agent that kills acne-causing bacteria and helps prevent clogged pores.

Together, these ingredients work to clear existing acne, prevent new breakouts, and improve overall skin appearance.

How to Use:

As directed by your healthcare provider, this product is generally applied once daily in a thin layer to the affected area at night.

Cleanse skin and ensure it is completely dry before application.

Avoid applying to cuts, abrasions, or areas of eczema.

Do not spot treat — use over the full affected area unless otherwise directed by your provider.

Some individuals may notice an initial worsening of acne during the first 1–2 weeks of use. This is a documented response and typically improves with continued treatment.

Adapalene and benzoyl peroxide is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, lips, and mucous membranes.
Side Effects

Side effects may include dry skin, itching, burning, and sun sensitivity.
