have not had a hypersensitivity reaction to torsemide, sulfur containing drugs, or any component of the formulation
have a diagnosis of high blood pressure or fluid retention and have already been taking torsemide as prescribed by an authorized healthcare provider
do not have anuria or hepatic coma
understand this medication may cause increased urination and severe electrolyte depletion
have not had bariatric surgery
do not have Addison’s disease
am not taking lithium
understand this medication may interact with medications being metabolized similarly, including antibiotics, lithium, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs e.g. ibuprofen)
am not pregnant or breastfeeding
understand this medication may cause acute kidney injury, severe fluid and electrolyte loss, hypersensitivity reactions, and hearing loss

Side Effects

Side effects may include dizziness, headache, upset stomach, decreased appetite, light sensitivity, and stomach cramps. This medication may interact with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen, naproxen, and aspirin. Avoid using NSAIDs in combination with torsemide as it may decrease its effectiveness.
