Betamethasone is a high potency topical prescription steroid used to treat skin irritation, skin rashes, and psoriasis. Topical corticosteroids are essential tools for treating inflammatory skin conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis, plaque psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), contact dermatitis, and Lichen planus. Topical betamethasone reduces local inflammation by blocking chemical reactions that cause inflammation, changing how immune cells work, and constricting blood vessels.

have not had a hypersensitivity reaction to betamethasone or any component of the formulation or other corticosteroids
have already been using betamethasone as prescribed by a dermatologist or an authorized healthcare provider
am not pregnant or breastfeeding
will discontinue the use of this product if local sensitivity occurs
will contact my provider if symptoms remain for 14 days or longer after use
will use the medication as prescribed for the appropriate treatment and duration
will not use betamethasone if atrophy is present at treatment site
will not use betamethasone and cover with occlusive dressing unless directed otherwise by an authorized healthcare provider
will not apply betamethasone to the face, eyes or eyelids, axillae, groin, intertriginous areas, or diaper area
will not use betamethasone for the treatment of acne vulgaris, rosacea, or perioral dermatitis
understand betamethasone is for topical use only and is not for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use
understand this medication may increase the risk of contact dermatitis and will discontinue if skin irritation or contact dermatitis occurs
understand the topical formulation of this product, is unlikely to, but may cause systemic effects (e.g. Cushing syndrome, high blood sugar, high sugar level in urine) if used for a prolonged period of time, applied to large areas, applied to denuded skin, or wrapped in occlusive dressing
understand potential localized side effects include skin atrophy (skin thinning), stretch marks, rosacea, perioral dermatitis, acne, and purpura if used for a prolonged period of time, applied to large areas, or wrapped in occlusive dressing
Will not use occlusive dressings on weeping or exudative lesions and general caution with occlusive dressing will observed as adverse effects may be increased
understand augmented (eg, very high potency) betamethasone products are not for the treatment of rosacea, perioral dermatitis, or if skin atrophy is present at treatment site; not for facial, groin, axillary, oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use; not for use in a diapered area; not recommended in patients <13 years of age.
understand it's recommended to avoid concurrent use of other corticosteroids
understand that topical corticosteroids such as betamethasone are not recommended for bacterial infections as their anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictive effect will mask the infection, ultimately delaying diagnosis and treatment
understand topical corticosteroids including betamethasone may increase the risk of posterior subcapsular cataracts and glaucoma and contact with eyes is to be avoided
understand betamethasone foam contains flammable propellants and I will avoid fire, flames, and smoking during and immediately following administration
