Ciclopirox shampoo is a prescription-strength topical antifungal treatment used to manage seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp—a chronic skin condition that causes itching, redness, scaling, and flaking. It works by inhibiting the growth of fungus, one of the underlying causes of inflammation and irritation in seborrheic dermatitis.
This medicated shampoo is specifically designed for scalp and hair use only and should not be used on broken skin or mucous membranes.
How to Use:
Wet hair and scalp thoroughly
Apply approximately 5 mL to 10 mL of shampoo to scalp and hair, as directed by your physician
Lather and leave on the scalp for at least 3 minutes
Rinse thoroughly with water
Additional Notes:
Typically used twice a week for up to 4 weeks or as prescribed
Avoid contact with eyes and mouth
Continue regular hair washing with a non-medicated shampoo between treatments if needed
For best results, use consistently as directed by your provider and avoid using other scalp products that may irritate the skin during treatment.
