Rizatriptan ODT is a preferred treatment for the management of acute migraine headaches and nausea. The tablet will dissolve on the inside of your cheek making it easier to take if you have an upset stomach. It should not be used for more than 10 days a month or for chronic headaches.   

  • Used to alleviate migraine headaches and preferred if experiencing nausea or vomiting
  • Dissolved on the tongue as a single dose at the first sign of onset or pain
  • May repeat dose one time after 2 hours if no relief, with a maximum dose of 20 mg
  • Can be taken with or without food
  • Not suitable to use for more than 10 days per month or individuals with allergy to phenylalanine or phenylketonuria (PKU)
  • Not suitable for individuals at risk for coronary artery disease without prior evaluation by a provider

  • Side Effects

    Side effects may include fatigue and loss of energy. Although rare, additional side effects include severe dizziness, vision changes, burning or numbness, and vomiting.
