Levalbuterol HFA inhaler (brand name Xopenex) is a prescription medication under the class of bronchodilators designed to treat or prevent bronchospasm in individuals with asthma or other reversible obstructive airway diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Levalbuterol is the R-enantiomer of albuterol, meaning it is a purified, active form that may result in fewer side effects for some users.
It works by relaxing the muscles around the airways, making it easier to breathe during asthma attacks or following triggers like exercise or allergens. Xopenex HFA is most commonly used on an as-needed basis to provide fast, targeted relief of symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness.
How To Use: Inhaler should be primed with 4 sprays away from the face before first use or if not used for more than two weeks. Typically begins working within minutes of administration when inhaled properly.
