Bepotastine is a prescription antihistamine eye drop often prescribed for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis, a condition that causes itchy, red, and watery eyes most often due to seasonal or environmental allergens like pollen, pet dander, or dust mites.
It works by blocking histamine receptors in the eye — histamine is a chemical released during allergic reactions that causes inflammation, swelling, and discomfort. Bepotastine, as an eye drop, offers direct action and potential relief on the area of irritation.
How to Use:
Typically prescribed, under the discretion of a healthcare provider as 1 drop in each affected eye twice daily (approximately 8–12 hours apart)
Do not touch the tip of the dropper to your eye or any surface to avoid contamination
It's recommended to remove contact lenses before use and wait at least 10 minutes before reinserting
Many patients experience symptom relief within minutes of application
