Ketorolac eye drops are a prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) medication used in the form of ophthalmic (eye) drops to relieve eye inflammation, redness, and itching caused by allergic conjunctivitis. It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins—chemicals responsible for inflammation in response to allergens. This medication is not a steroid but provides similar anti-inflammatory benefits, making it a preferred option for many individuals with seasonal or chronic eye allergies.
Ketorolac is typically instilled multiple times per day and may be part of a broader allergy treatment regimen.
How To Use: Apply one drop to the affected eye(s) up to four times daily as directed by your provider. If using other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes between applications. Remove contact lenses before application. Lenses may be reinserted 15 minutes after using ketorolac drops.
Warnings: Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye, to avoid contamination. Use with caution if you have a history of eye surgery or corneal issues.
