Tamsulosin is a prescription medication used to improve urinary symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate, a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate and reducing symptoms such as weak stream, difficulty starting urination, and frequent or urgent urination.
Tamsulosin can be used alone or in combination with other medications for prostate health.
Usage Instructions
Take exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider
Usually taken once daily, 30 minutes after the same meal each day
Swallow capsules whole; do not crush, chew, or open them
Continue taking even if symptoms improve, as stopping may cause them to return
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered unless it is close to the time for your next dose
Warnings & Precautions
May cause dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when standing up quickly—rise slowly from sitting or lying positions
Inform your healthcare provider if you have a history of low blood pressure or severe kidney or liver disease
Possible side effects include headache, nasal congestion, abnormal ejaculation, and dizziness
Rarely, tamsulosin may cause a condition called intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS) during cataract or glaucoma surgery. Inform your eye surgeon if you are taking or have taken this medication
Avoid sudden position changes and use caution when driving or operating machinery until you know how the medication affects you
Side effects may include headache, back pain, diarrhea, and dizziness. A rare side effect that requires immediate medical attention includes a painful erection lasting more than 4 hours.

The issuance of a prescription (or prescriptions) is entirely within the provider's discretion, but you will only be charged the fee if a prescription is issued. The doctor's visit is not a bundled service, and a prescription need not be generated through TelyRx's platform as a condition of purchase. If you already have a valid (and unexpired) unfilled prescription from a licensed prescriber for the specific drug, dosage, quantity, and formulation you seek from TelyRx, you can mail a copy of the prescription (along with your name, address, telephone number, and email address) to our pharmacy at 24761 US Hwy 19 N, Clearwater, Florida 33763, and a manual order will be initiated. Alternatively, you can have your provider fax your prescription directly to our pharmacy at (813) 845-8520. The manual order will include the pharmacy validating the prescription consistent with Florida pharmacy law. Please be advised that this process can take up to 3 days after the pharmacy received your prescription. If and when the prescription is validated, the pharmacy will reach out to you via phone and confirm your shipping and payment information, then dispense and ship the medication(s).
