Hydroquinone is used to lighten hyperpigmentation (dark spots) of the skin caused by a wide range of conditions, such as melasma, freckles and post-inflammatory marks caused by acne scars, eczema, hormonal treatments, and injury to the skin.

  • Used to lighten dark patches of the skin by blocking melanin pigment production that leads to discoloration
  • Typically applied sparingly to hyperpigmented areas twice daily for 3 to 6 months
  • Use a broad spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or greater), avoid prolonged sun exposure and wear protective clothing on areas being treated
