Estarylla is a prescription combined oral contraceptive that contains estrogen (ethinyl estradiol) and progestin (norgestimate). It is used to prevent pregnancy by stopping ovulation, thickening cervical mucus, and thinning the uterine lining. Each monthly blister pack contains 21 active tablets and 7 placebo tablets to maintain regular cycle timing.
Norgestimate, the progestin in Estarylla, has higher progestogenic activity, which may help improve acne in some patients. When taken consistently at the same time each day, Estarylla is highly effective in preventing pregnancy.
