Dutasteride/Tamsulosin is a once-daily prescription capsule used in adult men to treat the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as an enlarged prostate. This combination therapy includes two medications that target BPH in different ways:
Dutasteride, a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor, lowers levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that contributes to prostate growth.
Tamsulosin, an alpha-blocker, helps relax the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck to improve urine flow and reduce urinary symptoms such as difficulty starting urination, weak stream, and frequent or urgent urination.
This dual-acting medication helps relieve symptoms more effectively than either medication alone and may also reduce the need for BPH-related surgery.
How to Use:
Typically taken as one capsule daily about 30 minutes after the same meal each day
Swallow the capsule whole; do not chew, crush, or open
If you miss a dose, take it later that day—do not take two capsules the same day

Capsules should not be handled by individuals who are pregnant or may become pregnant, due to the risk of absorption and potential harm to a male fetus
Dutasteride may remain in the blood for months after stopping treatment; inform healthcare providers before donating blood or undergoing procedures
Dutasteride/Tamsulosin side effects may inclue: dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, runny or stuffy nose, sexual problems (such as decreased sexual interest/ability, ejaculation problems, decrease in the amount of semen/sperm), impotence (trouble getting or keeping an erection).
