Latanoprost eye drops are a prescription medication that are a prostaglandin analog often prescribed to reduce elevated intraocular pressure in individuals with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor—the natural fluid inside the eye—thereby lowering eye pressure and helping prevent optic nerve damage that can lead to vision loss.
Latanoprost is most effective when used consistently and as prescribed, typically once daily in the evening. It is important not to exceed this dosing frequency, as doing so may reduce its effectiveness.
How To Use: Before opening, latanoprost can be exposed to temperatures up to 104°F for a maximum of 8 days during shipment. Once opened, store the bottle at room temperature for up to 6 weeks (42 days).
Typically prescribed to administer 1 drop into the affected eye(s) each night. Contact lenses should be removed prior to administration, and may be reinserted after 15 minutes.
Warnings: Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination. Inform your doctor if you experience changes in eye color, increased eyelash growth, or eye irritation.
