Triamcinolone dental paste is a prescription-strength corticosteroid designed for use inside the mouth to relieve the discomfort of oral inflammatory and ulcerative lesions, such as canker sores. It works by reducing inflammation, swelling, and pain at the site of the sore, helping speed healing and improve comfort.
This medicated paste adheres to the moist surfaces in the mouth, creating a protective barrier over the lesion to prolong contact and enhance absorption of the active ingredient. It is generally applied at bedtime to maximize overnight contact, but may be used after meals if additional relief is needed.
Usage Instructions:
Wash hands before and after application
Place a small amount of paste directly onto the sore until a thin, smooth film forms; do not rub in
Apply at bedtime for optimal overnight contact
For additional applications, it's best to apply after meals to avoid being washed away by food or drink
Do not apply to the skin or eyes
Warnings & Precautions:
Not intended for use on external skin or other areas of the body
Prolonged use may lead to thinning of oral tissues or secondary infection
Discontinue use and consult your provider if irritation, allergic reaction, or worsening symptoms occur
Avoid eating or drinking for at least 30 minutes after application to allow the paste to adhere properly
