Ivermectin 1% cream (brand name: Soolantra) is a prescription topical treatment used to manage inflammatory lesions associated with rosacea. This condition is often aggravated by the presence of Demodex mites on the face, which are linked to inflammation. Ivermectin works by reducing the population of these mites while also providing anti-inflammatory effects. As a result, patients may experience improvements in pus-filled bumps, persistent facial redness, and skin thickening. The cream is formulated for once-daily application and is well tolerated by most patients.
How To Use: Apply a pea-sized amount to each affected area of the face (forehead, chin, nose, and each cheek). Spread as a thin layer, avoiding the eyes and lips. Use once daily or as directed by your healthcare provider.
Precautions: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, lips, and mucous membranes. Not for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use. Discontinue if irritation or allergic reaction occurs and consult your healthcare provider. Inform your doctor of any existing skin conditions or allergies before use.
