I am not alone in this conclusion.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a recent piece in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/books\/archive\/2025\/05\/how-health-became-luxury-commodity\/682957\/\"><em>The <\/em><em>Atlantic<\/em><\/a> noted,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201c[f]or many Americans, health care is something to be dreaded and deferred\u2014a source of pain, wasted time, or financial hardship.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>I agree. For far too many, systemic barriers make access to everyday medications unnecessarily complicated and frustrating. Unfortunately, our broken system deprives people of the care and medicines they need for basic ailments and routine chronic conditions. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-returning-power-to-providers-and-patients\">Returning Power to Providers and Patients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I am a firm believer that we can improve our system by developing technology-enabled solutions that facilitate the transfer of power over health care decisions away from insurance companies and back to doctors and patients.
